We are gathering a group of friends and supporters to walk by Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday October 20th at 8:30 a.m as part of the Canadian International Marathon (CIM) 5km fun run/ walk. This is a huge event with close to 10,000 participants running 5, 21 or 42 km's. We call this "Wave to Dave" !

As luck would have it (or is it!), the route passes right in front of the hospital along University Ave, proceeding down to Front St and then back up the other side of the street to the start/finish line at Queen's Park. This is also the finish line for the 21 & 42km marathon which will have also begun up in North York. We can then enjoy some post walk snacks and cheer on the finishers. There will be some world class runners taking part.

As we pass by PMH we will stop and call him from a cell. phone where everyone can wish him well and he can see us wave to him.

The Leukemia Research Fund of Canada will be signing us up for the  walk with the CIM organizers. We will all get a specially designed, sweat wicking, micro fibre purple Team in Training T-shirt that we will wear on the walk. As well, we are all invited to a pre -race pasta dinner the evening before at the Granite Restaurant (Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant) with other participants of the TnT program which will be a lot of fun!

There are other groups walking for TnT as well as a few Leukemia survivors. There is Team Eugene, Race for Grace, Wave to Dave, Team Eva, and Sean's Shooting Stars to name a few. If we were to sign up directly with the CIM we would pay $30, not be eligible for the pasta dinner and no awesome purple T-shirt!!!!

Everyone has contributed a great deal of time and money to our whole fundraising effort so far! THANK YOU ! I would encourage you to ask friends, family and co-workers to pitch in if possible and sponsor you! Don't feel shy or awkward. People are very open to the idea, especially when they know its for someone whom we know and care for.
